Frequently asked questions

Yes, HICAPS is available for clients with eligible private health cover. Please check with your provider to confirm your level of rebate.

Please note: All claims through BUPA must be paid in full at the time of your appointment and claimed manually using your receipt.

Your safety is our top priority. Dry needling is considered safe when performed by a trained and qualified practitioner. It uses sterile, single-use needles to target tight muscles and trigger points, helping to reduce pain, relieve tension, and improve movement.

As with any needling technique, there are minor risks such as temporary soreness, slight bruising, or minor bleeding. When treating areas near the chest, there is a very small risk of pneumothorax (air entering the space around the lung). This risk is extremely rare and minimised through proper training and strict safety protocols.

If you have any concerns, we’re happy to answer your questions and help you decide whether dry needling is right for you at your appointment.

At your initial consultation, we will take a thorough health history to determine where your pain is coming from. We will assess the range of motion of some of your joints to see where function can be improved. The session will be tailored to your preferences and recommended remedial modalities.

For your first appointment, we recommend booking a 60- or 90-minute session to allow adequate time for assessment, treatment, and any rehabilitation exercises or stretches.

Clothing, excluding underwear, is typically removed for remedial massage so oil and massage balms can be applied to the skin. However, this is entirely optional, and we are happy to provide treatment over clothing if you prefer. You will always be draped securely with towels for your comfort and privacy.

Please note: Dry needling and cupping can only be applied over bare skin.
